Debbie is the founder and CEO of Jack Hammer.
What drives her is an interest and investment in people and how to reveal their greatness. Because great leaders grow great companies.
For almost 20 years she has done just that – building a team of impassioned professionals within Jack Hammer, and in finding great leaders for organisations throughout Africa.
Her insights and stories have found their way into the media, where she appears regularly on television, radio and in print, and as a motivational speaker at conferences. She has recently published her first book, “IntheFlow – Taking Mindfulness to Work”, which was listed in the ‘Top 10 Best’ South African business books in 2016.
Debbie’s unique style and vision may come from her somewhat unconventional background: In her ‘first’ career, she was an award-winning contemporary dancer and choreographer…whilst completing her law degree!
Debbie a founding member of the Cape Town Chapter of EO, a global entrepreneurship organization of 12 000 members, and she currently serves on EO’s Global Leadership Development Committee. Her great passion for kids (her own, as well as children in distress) and dance have an outlet in the Heart Projects she invests in through Jack Hammer.
“Leadership provides daily opportunity for creative endeavour. I love being immersed in the ‘business’ of leadership, where mastery requires rigour and passion, and the demands for excellence are relentless. Almost as tough as being a dancer”.
